Abstract: Variations in length, weight, and maturity of northern pike in Oahe Reservoir were associated with sex and year class. Females were larger and more numerous than males. Catches were dominated by the 1959 and 1962 year classes; the 1964 year class was missing. Annulus formation began in April and was completed by July. SInce impoundment, large year classes have been associated with a rise in water level above previous high levels in spring and continuation of the higher level though early summer. |
