Abstract: Catches by gill nets, frame nets, trap nets, 4.0 and 8,2 meter otter trawls, seines, and a 220-volt electroshocker, from 1962 to 1964, were compared to determine practical methods for annual measuring of the fish populations in Lewis and Clark Lake. Analyses of catch-effort data indicated that seines and 8.2-meter trawls were most efficient for sampling young-of-the-year, and trap and gill nets were most efficient for sampling older fish. |
