Abstract: Geographic distribution and population success of walleye are affected by temperature regimes. Environmental alterations that can affect temperatures include altered flows, channel configurations, and discharges from reservoirs. The purpose of this report is to provide fishery biologists with information for use in evaluating alternative temperature regimes for their potential to protect and enhance walleye habitat. Temperature information for walleye life history and behavior is included in addition to procedures for applying the information in evaluating alternative temperature regimes for walleye habitat quality. |
