Abstract: Samples of shark and other fish livers were assayed as potential sources of vitamin A. While the assay work was conducted on these shark/fish liver oils, other physical and chemical properties were determined on as many samples as time permitted. These values are of interest if the oils are to be used for industrial purposes and may show real differences in the physical and chemical characteristics as compared with oils extracted from sharks from temperate waters or other oceans. |
