A photo of a captive Guam Rail (Hypotaenidia owstoni) or Ko'Ko bird in the Chamorro language of of the indigenous people of Guam. A flightless, fast running bird that has been driven to near extinction due to the introduction of the brown treesnake to the island. This bird was photographed at a Brown Treesnake Conference. It is an outreach bird used for education by the Guam Department of Agriculture. |
