Description: |
During summer 2022, WS coordinated with the WARB and MADFW to remove the one and only chick and have it transported to Tufts Veterinarian School where it was tested for Avian Influenza (AI). Once confirmed negative, the chick will then be relocated to another peregrine falcon nest within the state of Massachusetts. WS personnel are working with the WARB and MADFW to install a nest box on the top of the hangar to encourage the peregrine falcon to nest in a location easily accessible in the future and not dependent on a very expensive lift. To date WS has relocated and successfully fledged 11 falcons. |
