Description: |
This European starling was singing to defend his nest site, a small opening in the tail of this floatplane parked at Lake Hood Seaplane Base. Note the accumulation of fecal matter along the tail fin beneath his perch. The presence of nest material in the inner workings of this plane and the fecal matter eroding the outer covering could spell disaster for this small aircraft if not caught in time. |
