Maryland/Delaware/D.C. Wildlife Services (MD WS) partnered with the USDA-APHIS National Detector Dog Training Center (NDDTC) to train detector dogs to assist in determining the presence/absence of feral swine (and possibly the extent). All MD WS detector dog/handler teams are trained and certified by NDDTC. Canines are trained to locate and indicate (via a bark response) the presence of swine scat. |
