Description: |
NRMP Staff Biologist Christine Thurber and a local bull size each other up in Greater Burlington, VT as Christine prepares to set a trap targeting raccoons. The trapping efforts in Burlington during 2021 were part of a new ONRAB research study with the goal to document vaccine bait uptake by target and nontarget species via trail cameras, as well as measure the effectiveness of vaccine distribution by hand baiting compared to a combination of hand baiting/bait stations in developed landscapes in Vermont. The NRMP worked with NH/VT WS, the National Wildlife Research Center (NWRC) and the University of Vermont on this project. |
