The baits used in hand baiting and bait stations contained iophenoxic acid (IPA) biomarkers (different derivatives for each distribution method treatment area). With this new biomarker developed at NWRC (which marks blood instead of teeth), scientists can determine which treatment method a target animal consumed a bait in (i.e., will tell us which treatment is more effective). Post-ORV trapping/sampling occurred from October 5-15, 2021 |
