Endangered western snowy plovers nest on NBVC Point Mugu and often roost on the airfield. They also nest in the gravel on runway shoulders and in cracks in the pavement. NBVC Point Mugu also employs a USDA WS Wildlife Specialist to conduct predator control to protect nesting plovers |
