2015-2016 Wildlife Services Photo Contest Entry. As part of ongoing feral swine toxicant efforts at the NWRC, Wildlife Biologist Michael Lavelle prepares a (placebo) paste pile for a feral swine research study at Camp Bullis-Joint Base San Antonio, San Antonio, TX. Consumption of three candidate baits by feral swine were evaluated to determine which was most readily consumed by feral swine. Regular paste (pictured), colored (dyed) paste, and oil 'pour on' were tested, the colored paste was most readily consumed. |
