Description: |
To accurately detect and measure contact between two or more deer, NWRC researchers built a deer-borne contact detection system that includes cameras and proximity loggers on GPS collars. Such a system was able to document how the use of cameras and GPS alone can underrepresent contact rates among animals. This image appeared in the 2014 NWRC Accomplishments Report, Accomplishments in Brief- Contact Detection Systems Aid in Assessing Disease Risk. Approved for public collections. |
