Description: |
Each year, WS and cooperators distribute about 6.5 million oral rabies vaccine baits in selected states to create a zone where raccoon rabies can be contained. NWRC economists estimate that an enhanced rabies program (i.e., one that pushes for the full eradication of the raccoon strain of rabies) would likely prevent an estimated $48 to $456 million in rabies related damages.
